100% FIFTY FIFTY

Exhibited in Gallery I

Certain to see them but unsure if they’ll stay, '100% fifty fifty’ brings together a ragtag group of brightly coloured entities. These forms converse through a shared painterly language across a variety of materials, from textile to canvas and clay.

Entangled limbs emerge across and stow away within layers of gestural marks and various surfaces. A face looks down to a smile and waves as their legs go the opposite direction. Parts becoming whole, characters that showboat and play coy with the viewer. Like a never ending game of tag, look and you’re it, but don’t touch.

The individual works serving as singular events, while simultaneously suggesting a collective moment of many. A figure runs out the frame as another waves them over the edge. Each flick, drip and drag of a brush hinting to a world between and beyond each other. You’re sure it’s possibly there.
